I take my time now just a bit for you to write about my life here in the Zebra. It is Saturday morning, 8:22 Clock (6:22 clock with you). The housekeeper has just walked past my window to the Chai make for the kids to breakfast. Today, NEN all bit later: It has just stopped raining and everything is flooded. Save again once the kitchen! The housekeeper is So, at first everything dry must disclose before they can make fire.
lies before me a tough week: children have discretion on the basis of the final examination of the eighth grade next week and to make matters worse, even our guard from now on vacation. No, he has really deserved ... he has his family for eleven months and not seen day and night spent here in the Zebra. So that means for me that I now really have morning and evening milking, and the more or less alone:) This is the milking but not the problem, but the tying of the cows before I can start with the milking. But the housekeeper, we help me and together we can get it done somehow.
And then there's another "problem": Since last week, but in fact often times it's raining, which means a whole lot of water and mud. Our parlor literally float. Without rubber boots because nothing works! 've Been so Thursday in possession of a new pair of boots ... for 500 Khs, do not say by 5 €.
rain also means: No more water problems and more GREEN:) It's really unbelievable how quickly everything here is green. Two nights of rain-rich off! With the rain here and the incredible diversity of insects increases. Although've not seen any mosquitoes, but the number of flying beetles has increased incredibly and we should therefore on no account leave open doors when light is on. And then there are the frogs, who hold a concert every night here now.
With the rain still another challenge has come for us: We have no paved road to the Zebra Children's Village, we can currently achieve no car. We had some visitors on Thursday by an American couple who visited us regularly now and Fruit Salad for the children bring, but the Maasai residents had only after coaxing the gate at the road open for them ... and as it turned out well with good justification, because on the way back, the Americans have unfortunately stuck. This is something on the car broke down, so they had to be towed. Fortunately, they had left us in time, otherwise they would have had to stay with us because it was too dark. Let's see how the times here now goes to the supply. My project partner and I were lucky on Monday bought quite a lot of food, but our fire wood is empty ...
I see now the way back as three weeks. Have been told yesterday to open my braids from the children. There were actually 186 braids! The braided synthetic hair had already slipped out relatively well and it did not look so good. I also could not wash my hair properly. Click for the women this is normal, but true for me then but very unusual. Let's see expectant, I determined at some point again can braid the hair!
